Heartbeat is a branded documentary about one woman's fight to create a safe haven for kids of south-east San Diego, through music expression.

​

As the filmmaker behind the piece, it was a really beautiful experience to watch this amazing group of kids and truly see the multifaceted community Tyra Hawthorne, Founder and Band Director,  created through her organization. As you'll see in the doc, Heartbeat is much more than your average performing arts academy.
